We are a local family business with a passion for quality foods and drinks served in our two friendly café | bars in historic Clifton Village, close to the suspension bridge and by the waterside of the ultra modern Portishead Marina.
Both venues are open daily serving our speciality hot and cold chocolate drinks as well as traditional classic café drinks including organic, fair trade coffees and teas, alcoholic drinks and delicious foods served all day.
At Portishead Marina we serve a wide range of meals, including tapas that we serve all day every day into the evening with an extensive fully licensed bar.
Our Clifton Village cafe also has a range of couverture chocolates of fresh truffles from our chocolate counter and unique packed chocolates, including edible chocolate boxed and hand painted chocolate fish to make the perfect gift or sit and indulge with one of our wines.

Our Drinks
We only serve fresh coffee that is organic, fair trade and rain forest alliance certified from our coffee supplier Clifton Coffee, that we use in our authentic traditional coffee machines to make quality traditional coffees that are usually found on the continent. Our traditional tea’s are fair trade and we stock a wide range of tea’s including organic and detox tea’s.
All our speciality chocolate drinks are made by melting high quality cocoa chocolate with fresh milk. No powders, added sugars, or other nasties in our chocolate drinks to give flavour – our drinks are as pure and simple in their ingredients as it gets.
This gives our customers the purest hot chocolate, or milk shake when we add real dairy ice-cream. No-one makes chocolate drinks like we do. We take enormous pride in the great taste of our speciality hot and cold chocolate drinks that originates from our chocolate history of making and selling quality cocoa chocolate products over the years from back when we were commonly known as bar chocolat in Clifton Village.
Both Clifton and Portishead Marina offer a selection of cold drinks and juices as well as a range of premium wines and champagnes. Portishead Marina also offers a selection of cocktails, spirits and lagers at our waterside location.
Our foods
All day from morning we serve a range of foods. In Portishead we have an extensive menu of meals and tapas served into the night. In Clifton we serve a range of foods from bacon baguettes and tea cakes to soups, baguettes and paninis served with a salad garnish.
Both café | bars carry an extensive range of cakes (gluten and diary free options), including Great Teste Award wining cakes and our own speciality cakes like White Chocolate Cheesecake made with … you guessed it … melted real white chocolate!
